This new home for a professional couple was built on an existing house site on the edge of the range. The original structure was replaced by this dual level design which takes advantage of the view to the east whilst also addressing the extremely steep site.
The home has been designed to provide our clients with a totally self-contained living solution on the upper level. This has meant that the garage, kitchen, sitting, living, studio, main bedroom and guest bedroom are all located together on the top floor, with the minor bedrooms and service zones being located together on the lower level.
A feature of the living spaces is the inclusion of two fireplaces – an indoor gas fire in the lounge, which has been located back-to-back with an external wood fire located on the terrace.
The interior decorating was undertaken by Tahlie B Designs.
