Elspeth comes from a rural background and joined ELIA in late 2016 after 3 years with her family farming enterprise west of Goondiwindi. She brings a fresh and practical perspective in addition to prior experience with architectural firms in Brisbane, Sydney and Tokyo.
Elspeth completed her Masters of Architecture at UQ in Brisbane in 2013 and during her studies broadened her architectural education completing exchange semesters in Tucson (USA), Ahmedabad (India) and Berlin (Germany).
Currently gaining experience on a variety of projects, she is working towards completing architectural registration with the Board of Architects Queensland.
Elspeth has a particular interest in residential, rural and remote architecture and values passive and resourceful design that responds to regional climate, local surroundings and lasting use.
